Isabel Bustos has studied Ballet in the National School of Arts in the city of Havana. She participated in the National Companhies of Equador and Cuba. She worked as a teacher and choreographer at the National School of Modern Dance and at the Faculty of Drama at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Cuba. She taught improvisation workshops and master classes, Choreographic Composition and Contemporary Dance Technique in Cuba, Equador, Mexico, England, France and the United States. In 1987 she founded the Companhia de Danza-Teatro Retazos, where she has created most of her work. Her pieces have been presented in Equador, Mexico, Colombia, Spain, Italy, Paraguay, France, Nicaragua, USA, among other countries. She choreographed for different Professional companhies, including “Union Dance” (England) and “Repertory Dance Theater” (USA).
