Presents DITOS E MALDITOS
Museu do Trabalho Theater – Rua dos Andradas, 270 – November 20 – 7:30 p.m.
Terpsí Teatro de Dança is a contemporary dance company created in 1987 by the reunion of some artists from Rio Grande do Sul. Their work has been dedicated, essentially, to the research of a unique language, which recovers human experiences and tears down the barriers which separate the interpreters from the work, for they are the work. It is by following this thread that the company finds its identity within theatrical dancing.
“DITOS MALDITOS: Desejos da Clausura” is the new piece of Cia Terpsí and it refers to the restlessness found in the work of the accursed writers, focusing on the ambiguity of the characters and being disclosed from each sight. The scenery represents the ambient in a refrigerated room. The piece puts in evidence the paradox of that which at the same time freezes to conservate, destroying and protecting death, that serves as food for life. Its starting point are the themes proposed by the works of accursed writers and artists, such as Jarry’s Ubu Roi, Beckett’s The rocking chair, Van Gogh’s Letters to Théo, Allan Poe’s The Raven, Iberê Camargo, Caio Fernando Abreu and Augusto dos Anjos.
