RETAZOS Was founded in the city of Havana, in January 1987, under the direction of the teacher and choreographer Isabel Bustos Romoleroux.  By usung natural and everyday gestures, Bustos has created a lyrical and intimist language that seeks to reflect the different contradictions of its time. RETAZOS orient their choreography towards a unique scenic projection ant their works represent a strong chronicle of latin-american spirituality in a reflexive, unpredictable, legitimate and particularly vital dancing.

“Retazos” intends to apprach Federico García Lorca, his poetics, getting inspiration from excerpts of Bodas de Sangre, Yerma and fragments of the gypsy’s Romancero. And from the passion and death of España.
The Company’s inspiration in this homage to Garcia Lorca comes from images and dramatic symbols found in his works.
